CoachOne vs MyFitnessPalone logs food, one runs your sessions

MyFitnessPal for personal trainers is mostly a tool for your clients: they log what they eat. CoachOne is an iPhone app for your business, with bookings, payments, clients and reminders. They do different jobs, and you can use both.

MyFitnessPal for personal trainers. What it is built for.

MyFitnessPal is a food and exercise log for individuals. The free version covers logging, weight and measurements, your own recipes, and links to partner apps.

Premium adds faster logging with the barcode scanner, Meal Scan and voice logging, plus goals by meal or by day and no ads. Premium+ adds meal planning and grocery lists, and is sold in the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.

For a trainer, the useful part is diary sharing. A client can share their food diary with friends, so you can check it from your own account. That is where MyFitnessPal for personal trainers ends: it does not book sessions or take payments.

CoachOne does not do nutrition at all. It does not log food or count calories. So the two work well together: clients log food in MyFitnessPal, and you run bookings and payments in CoachOne.

MyFitnessPal vs CoachOne.Different jobs.

This is less a contest and more booking app vs nutrition app. Here is what each one covers for a personal trainer.

MyFitnessPal shows prices by country, and we saw euro prices. Premium+ prices were not shown on that page. MyFitnessPal is a trademark of its owner. Prices and details checked in October 2026 on the official website and may differ by region.

What each one costs. In plain terms.

The MyFitnessPal Premium price on the official page, as we saw it, was €9.99 a month or €49.99 a year. Prices vary by country. The free version already includes logging and diary sharing.

CoachOne is free to download and use. There is no subscription and no monthly fee, and you get unlimited clients and sessions.

You pay only when a client pays by card: a 3% Platform Fee plus Stripe's processing costs, itemised in the app and deducted before your payout. Cash sessions cost nothing. The Payment Terms set out every fee.

One booking link.Booked and paid in a few taps.

CoachOne gives you a single link for all your sessions. Put it in your Instagram bio, pin it in a WhatsApp chat or send it by text.

Clients open it and see what they can book, in the CoachOne app or online without downloading anything. They pick a session and a time, then pay by card, Apple Pay or cash. The booking lands on your calendar straight away.

It is a simple app on purpose: bookings, payments, clients and reminders in one place, without a large setup.

  • Private, duo and group sessions
  • Card held at booking, charged after the session
  • Automatic reminders, for example 24 hours and 1 hour before
  • One chat per client, with each booking in the conversation

Using both.Food there, business here.

The two apps are not connected, so each does its own part. A typical setup:

  • Clients log their food

They use MyFitnessPal on their own phone, on the free version or Premium.

  • You check their diary

If a client sets diary sharing to Friends Only and adds you as a friend, you can open their diary from your account.

  • They book you in CoachOne

Sessions, payments and reminders run through your booking link, so the business side stays in one app.

  • You keep notes per client

Internal notes and tags in each client profile hold what you agreed together, next to attendance and money owed.

When MyFitnessPal is the right tool.No contest there.

CoachOne is not a nutrition app and does not try to be one. MyFitnessPal is the better pick for these jobs.

  • You coach nutrition

Food logging, macro goals and meal planning are what MyFitnessPal is for. CoachOne has none of them.

  • Clients track weight and exercise

MyFitnessPal logs exercise, weight and measurements. Progress in CoachOne is about attendance, not weight or workouts.

  • Bookings already work for you

If your bookings and payments already run well elsewhere, add MyFitnessPal for food and leave the rest.

Questions aboutswitching.

It is a useful tool for your clients' food logging, and they can share their diary with you. It is not built to book sessions or take payments, which is the job of an app for personal trainers like CoachOne.

On the official Premium page in October 2026 we saw €9.99 a month or €49.99 a year. MyFitnessPal says prices vary by country.

MyFitnessPal's plans are for the person doing the logging. As a coach, you can view a client's food diary if they share it with you as a friend.

No. CoachOne has no food logging or nutrition features. The client progress screen shows training hours, streaks, badges and attendance, not health data.

Yes. They log food in MyFitnessPal and book and pay for sessions with you in CoachOne. The two apps are not connected, so nothing passes between them.

It is free to download and use, with no monthly fee. On card payments, a 3% Platform Fee plus Stripe's processing costs is deducted before payout. Cash sessions cost nothing.

You share one booking link, for example in your Instagram bio, on WhatsApp or by text. Clients open it on any phone and book in the CoachOne app or online, then choose a session and time and pay by card, Apple Pay or cash.
